Black-and-white photography is the medium through which I most naturally express my vision of the world. By removing the distraction of color, I seek to reveal what is essential, allowing light, shadow, texture, and form to speak with greater clarity.
My work is deeply inspired by nature and the quiet beauty found within its ever-changing landscapes. Rather than pursuing grand spectacle, I am drawn to moments of subtle harmony, places where atmosphere, simplicity, and emotion converge. Through careful observation and patience, I strive to capture images that transcend documentation and become visual interpretations of experience.
Minimalism lies at the heart of my photographic practice. I believe that the most compelling images are often those that say the most with the least. By reducing a scene to its fundamental elements, I aim to create photographs that invite contemplation and encourage a deeper connection with the subject.
Photography, for me, is not merely about recording what exists before the lens. It is a way of translating a personal response to the natural world into a visual language. My goal is to create timeless images that evoke emotion, inspire reflection, and establish a lasting dialogue between the viewer and the landscape.

Born in Komárno, Slovakia, in 1982.
Zoltán Békefy is a self-taught fine art and landscape photographer. He began photographing in 2005, an experience that gradually changed the way he perceived and experienced the world around him.
His photographic journey has been shaped by travel and a deep connection to natural landscapes. Years spent in Ireland had a particularly strong influence on his visual language, introducing a sense of solitude, atmosphere, and quietness that continues to resonate throughout his work.
Working primarily in black and white, Békefy is drawn to oceans, mountains, forests, and the subtle forms found in nature. Through minimal compositions and long exposure, he transforms landscapes into quiet, contemplative images that often exist between reality and abstraction.
Today, travel remains an essential part of his creative process. For Békefy, photography is less about recording a place than experiencing it—waiting for the moment when landscape, light, atmosphere, and emotion come together in a single frame.
